Fair enough, entry title updated (inserted “ombudsman”).
Ironically, I don’t know whether the clarification is better or worse news for the NYT editorial board. If indeed they overstated their claims of illegality of those programs, then failing to correct the record when their hired conscience is having second thoughts, is itself a sad thing to see.
