The little local activist group “community air” has filed suit against the Island airport today, to try to block the construction associated with the impending startup of Porter Air

Amidst the doom & gloom language, there is a chivalrous little gem arguing that the airplane to be used by Porter, the Bombardier Q400 is actually unsafe to operate there. Let’s take apart this execrable document.

Oh well, what can one expect from political activists, especially such unlikely ones to receive ahead-of-time fact checking assistance from aviation experts, whom they despise.

There has been a warning about migratory geese at Pearson for the past week. Perhaps “community air” should focus on Pearson. After all there is currently way more traffic there than there ever will be at the Island.

Frank, you took a picture of a few of the ‘community air’ members a few years ago as they were protesting at the island ferry gates. That picture is worth a thousands words, it just goes to show what kind of intelligence is behind this group.

There is certainly intelligentsia within the group. Like many other activist groups in general, they feel the need to make ludicrously exaggeraged claims to get their point across. At least these guys make factually refutable claims; others settle for “... but it will hurt the children” kind of fluff.

Ah yes, those pictures.
